Sam Adams Infinium

So just last night, a friend and I tried Sam Adams Infinium. It's a very light bodied, dry ale that sparkles almost like a champagne. It was beyond delicious... unlike any beer I've ever tried. But now it's got me very intrigued. Could I brew something like this at home? I obviously don't expect res...

Oktoberfest question...

Hello, I'm going to be brewing my Oktoberfest in the next couple days and I'm kind of looking to get a certain taste. Not 100% sure how to explain it but I'm looking to get a very malty (low hop) taste with a slight finishing sweet flavor. So I was thinking about using a small amount of brown sugar....

Re: Cherry Stout

So just for an update, my Cherry Stout is done and came out WAY BETTER than I could have expected! Very smooth, with a very noticeable cherry flavor but not sweet and had a very slight chocolate flavor to it! I actually used 3 lbs of tart cherries (frozen) and about a 1-1/2 lbs sweet black cherries ...

Tap a Draft / Party Pig / Mini Keg Options

So I'm currently looking into a couple different options for kegging some of my brews. Unfortunately, I can't afford to drop all the money into a full on kegging system and I don't have an extra fridge/freezer to store a keg or two in either so that also puts a damper on things. I keep looking at th...

I actually made a stout a few months back using hallertau hops and it came out great. I think I might just go with the Oregon puree. I'm very interested in how it will come out. That's what I was afraid of with the extracts as well, I definitely want to stay away from artificial tastes. Thank you bo...

Cherry Stout

Hello, I would like to try to take my first shot at a fruit beer. Generally I really only like a nice hint of fruit, I do not like sweet fruit beers. I have a can of Mount Mellick Stout along with 2 lbs. of Muntons dark DME and hallertau hops. I would like to try and make this into a cherry stout. W...

A ton of bottles! Can I use them?

So I have a friend who called me up and said he had tons of bottles for me! He had saved me a couple hundred bottles from a party... rinsed them out, cleaned off the labels for me. What a good friend. But then he mentioned they were all twist off bottles. I sadly told him thanks but I couldn't use t...

G&G Oktoberfest

So my Oktoberfest has been bottled to 2 weeks this past Thursday. I put one in the fridge on Saturday while making wings and food for the OSU game! After about an hour I opened it to see how ready it was... At first taste I though it was pretty good, then a caught a weird taste going down. I took an...

Thank you!

That's great news. That's what I hoped for, I'm just used to taking a few days (5-7) for it to finish. I figure I will rack it over to my carboy this Friday (exactly a week). Thank you again for your help!

Fermentation

So I brewed the Mount Mellick Stout on Friday afternoon. Once I got the temp down to 75 I pitched my yeast into my fermentation bucket put in it the back corner of my basement (which stays at a pretty steady 65-68 degrees). 12 hours later I checked on it (first thing in the morning) and the beer was...

Mount Mellick?

Hello, I'm pretty new to brewing although it's quickly turning into an obsession! My first batch was G&G Irish Ale which is bottled, I have 4 days left till my 2 weeks is up and I can finally open a bottle. My second batch is G&G Oktoberfest. Which I will be transferring over to my carboy to...
