Our English Special Bitter is a medium bodied amber English styled ale. The steeping grains include crystal, English pale and torrified wheat. Northern Brewer hops are use for bittering and East Kent Goldings are used for aroma. This kit makes a wonderful easy drinking pint. Commercial examples include Fuller's London Pride, Adnams SSB, Young’s Special, Brains SA, Black Sheep Best Bitter, Goose Island Honkers Ale and Rogue Younger’s Special Bitter.

The kit includes malt syrup, dry malt extract, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, Safale s-04 dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you desire to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1028. Anticipated SG 1.044, SRM 12, IBU 10, and 4.4% AVB.
