Our Ordinary Bitter is a low alcohol session beer that is very easy drinking. It has a moderate amount of hop bitterness provided by Brewers Gold hops. Restrained levels of hop flavor and aroma are provided by East Kent Golding hops. Some malty and toast aromas and flavors are present from the use of Amber and Aromatic malts. Commercial examples are Youngs Bitter, and Tetley's Original Bitter.
The kit includes 3.3 lbs malt syrup, 1 lb dry malt, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, Safale s-04 dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirl Floc Tablet, and instructions. It requires a 45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you desire to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1968. Anticapated OG 1.038, SRM 10, IBU 30 and 3.8% ABV.
