Briess caramel 40 deg L. Caramel 40 provides color, unique flavor and body (non-fermentables), and contributes to foam retention and beer stability. It also gives a sweet, medium caramel flavor and a golden to light red color. Use 3-7% of grist to provide color, sweetness, caramel flavor and body. For medium amber beer use 5-15% of grist.
